I have had this tablet since January 12th. I saw some in the cage when I was about to purchase a Sony S tablet and told the girl that I wanted it. I was afraid they may not sell it to me since it was not supposed to be released until the 15th but they did. I have thoroughly researched and tested all of the available tablets at Best Buy which include the I-Pad 2, Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom, Ausus Transformer, Transformer Prime, Sony S, Toshiba Thrive and the Motorola Xoom Family edition.

I must say that I wish the Prime did not have all of the issues that it has especially the wi-fi signal dropping while bluetooth is connected. I tested two different floor models of the Prime and was able to replicate intermittent signal drops of the wi-fi signal. Proof of this was not only evident in the signal icon but also while watching you tube videos. At one of the stores I even switched from a wi-fi router to an AT&T mobile hotspot. I have a collection of netbooks and tablets but this one caught my eye as worth getting. I planned to purchase the $139.00 unit but at the last minute I switched to the $159.00 offer that included the case/stand and a keyboard.
Everything works as expected including Google Play,You Tube, Amazon Store, and a solid wifi with excellent reception.
The only weakness was with downloaded MP4 You Tube videos which tended to pixelate and break up. The newer webm format videos were much better. I'm sure the MP4's would run better if I took the time to download a dedicated mp4 player from Google Play.
Also, the Google Voice Search on the browser wasn't very accurate but might improve over time.
If you decide to buy this tablet spend the extra $20 on the keyboard and case. It's worth it........read more

This tablet has been bashed by most tech journalists and I'm not sure why. To me it seems that many tech journalists have become Apple fanatics. I am tech agnostic and own products from all manufacturers: A Mac mini, a Macbook Pro 13.3, a Galaxy Note phone, and a bunch of tablets (ipad 3, Kindle Fire HD, Galaxy Note 10.1). I must say that this tablet has completely taken me off guard. I really wasn't expecting to like it all that much, but this tablet is a great alternative to the iOS and Android tablets.

My first Windows 8 tablet was a Samsung Ativ Smart PC (XE-500T). It's an overall excellent device, but has a few fatal flaws: 1) A plastic back is a very bad choice for a 11.6" device and the tablet has way too much flex (mine produced creaking noises) 2) Intel has come a long way with Atom processors, but overall performance was a bit laggy. 3) The Ativ at 11.6" was just a bi t too thick and a bit too large to qualify as portable.

This is my third Android tablet. My first was a very low budget tablet, the Archos 7 Home Tablet, the second was the Archos 70 Internet Tablet. I was looking for a tablet with more features, most importantly a rear camera and a GPS, but I didn't want to spend $600.

When I rate anything, I rate it based on what is being promised vs what has been delivered. So although I may mention cons in this review, it still scores a perfect rating because those cons are disclosed up front and I wasn't hit with any curve balls.

cons:
-No kick stand. I loved this about my first two tablets and I missed it on day 2 with this tablet.
-Short battery life. I am used to a 7 hour battery life and this tablet cuts 2 hours off of that.
-New OS version brings some apps not being ready. Not the device's fault, but it is still a bummer to see a Force Close.

While the dual screen configuration is more useful than I would have originally thought, the Iconia 6120 is not for everyone. Its especially not for people who do a lot of writing. While the virtual keyboard works well, it is not the same as a physical keyboard.

And I have to contradict one of the reviewers here, the machine is very fast and I have noticed few bugs. The machine booted up the first time just fine, with no issues and the keyboard appears after a few seconds. I also have not noticed any unusual warmth.

But that doesn't mean all's perfect. There's the unexcusably missing bluetooth and multimedia card/ExpressCard slots. Also, while they give you easy access to the inards, via an easy to remove bottom access panel, that reveals an empty PCI Express card slot, there are no antenna leads. I've been wanting to get a tablet since last year and have been holding out since they announced ICS and Quad-Core processors. I was going to get the Prime for christmas, but it was unavailable, so I decided to wait and see what came out in the spring. I've stayed away from the Prime due to the higher price and GPS issues, so it came down to 3 tablets while making my decision (Transformer Pad, Acer Iconia a510 and the Toshiba Excite 10). All 3 tablets are very similar and met my criteria for a tablet (ICS, Tegra 3, 1280x800 display, HDMI-out, etc.). I had originally ordered the Iconia a510, but it was back-ordered. Then I saw the Excite was available and in stock early on Amazon last week, so I cancelled my order for the Acer and immediately orderd the Toshiba. What ultimately sold me on the Toshiba model was the Gorilla Glass, the Stock ICS experience and the Full SD card slot. Review : A good, but not great tablet.
This is my first Android-based tablet, and I'm not going to compare it to the tablet that's made by that fruit-themed company and will keep this within the Android space. The real competitor of the Dell Streak 7 is the Samsung Galaxy Tab (Wi-Fi). The Streak lacks in some features when compared to the Galaxy Tab, and based on stats alone, I think the Galaxy Tab has the Streak 7 beat by a wide margin.

The Dell Streak is a nice tablet, and I like the way it feels. When you hold it in landscape format, your right thumb can hit all of the control buttons. The weight wasn't that bad at around 18oz and felt ok. I could grip the tablet easy with one hand instead of tucking the other 10" tablet under my arm.

The Streak's screen resolution is smaller than the Galaxy Tab's - 800x480 vs 1024x600 on the same size screen. The Streak 7's icons seemed a bit fuzzy to me, but I'm not sure if that's my bad eyes..........read more

Review : A ton of bang for your buck!
I am writing this review on the tablet...which works great!

Sharp colors, responsive touchscren, lightweight, bright screen, no problem connecting, comes with google play installed. It also comes with a screen protector already on it.

There is a little lag, but not bad at all. One problem I found was the lack of a decent protective case available. I found a used 7mm (the thickest available) wetsuit for $24 and plan on sewing my own drop guard for it, as this is a birthday gift for my 3 year old son.

Another drawback is no Netflix, although that is 100% Netflix's bad for making their app require (something, I'm not sure what, but Netflix customer service basically says "sorry, nothing we can do") (see fix at bottom).

Battery life is about 3 hours continual use, which could be better, but still isn't that bad.

All and all I am very pleased.
